There’s a renaissance going on in Halifax, Nova Scotia right now. Once considered a mecca for young indie bands, the spunky medium-size port-town is now punching above its weight in so many ways, with great bands and solo musicians filling every possible musical niche. Little Zaide Music – pronounced Little Zey-dah – is your gateway to that music, and can guide you through every aspect of planning the musical portion of your wedding from artistic selection to getting the production just right, including PA, staging, lighting, etc.

The musicians on this list are original, refreshing, youthful and fun – and offer an interactive (and human) alternative or complement to DJs and iPods. This is just a sampling of the musicians on LZM’s roster; if you don’t see something that piques your interest, just ask.

Owned and operated by double bassist Adam Fine, Little Zaide Music is the result of 10 years working in the music business in Nova Scotia. Fine worked his way up through the ranks at JazzEast – the Halifax Jazz Festival’s parent organization – to become their artistic director for 2008 and 2009. He has managed Gypsophilia (see above) since the beginnings of that successful group in 2005.
